The Tuesday Show Low Down (Or "We Were Working Part Time, All The Time...")

So I hear that I missed one of the best shows this year at Spaceland last Friday night at The Henry Clay People's cd release show w/ Le Switch and The Parson Redheads. And then some great performances at the Detour Festival with The Monolators, Noah and the Whale, and more the next afternoon.

But I did catch Pizza!, Princeton, Earlimart, and more at The Eagle Rock Music Festival on Saturday, so I guess I'm one for three. I kind of love that event. It's nice to see folks who don't normally get out to LA music venues get to see some of the best local bands -- and I think the babies and dogs probably enjoyed it, too. It was funny to watch the dads in the crowd make scrunchy dad faces when Aaron from Earlimart fulfilled his regular role as resident f-bombadier.

Enough about the past, let's look to le future. (That's French.)

DECISION:
Sure, I probably recommend seeing The Flying Tourbillon Orchestra every time they play, and I likely will keep doing that, too. But this seems like a good opportunity to catch a few local bands who don't play that often and at a nice small venue, at that.

- Part Time Punks presents: Killdozer @ The Echo
- RACHAEL CANTU, ALEX & SAM, MY HAWAII, MAD GREGS @ Tangier Lounge

DECISION:
Space rock act Shiloe celebrate the release of their album on New & Used Records on Sunday at Spaceland and with good cause: There's some really quality tracks on there.

Meanwhile, any excuse to see The Movies is a great one and that it's all for a good cause multiplies it all by a factor of ask-some-math-guy-to-figure-it-out...

And I like singer-songwritery group The Rhone Occupation.

That's it. Did I miss anything? Please lemme know.
