The Monday Show Low Down (Or “Sometimes I Feel Like I Can Run Forever...”)

I'm updating on my lunch break at work right now, so gotta keep it quick... Click here if you want to hear a stream/download of the Demo Listen episode I did with Octavius and Lawyer Jed on KXLU 88.9 FM last Friday night.

Also did a little DJing at Little Radio Summer Camp yesterday, too. Fun times...

Anyway, enough about me, let's take a look at the shows going on this week here in LA.

- The Deadly Syndrome & Something For Rockets @ Spaceland (FREE)

- Kevin Kanner, Gerald Clayton, Tim Green, & Ambrose Akinmusire & The Mint (FREE)
- The Horrors w/ Bloodcat Love @ The El Rey

You only have two more weeks to catch the free Thailand or The Deadly Syndrome residency nights, so you better choose one tonight. Both are great live plus free.

If you haven’t seen Sea Wolf or The Minon Canon before and heart semi-melancholic pop music, you really ought to do yourself a favor and go check one out on Thursday night.

Sea Level Records’ Going Away Party on Friday night at Safari Sam’s is not to be missed. The last time I saw The Switch play? They completely fucking killed it. And Division Day? I don’t they have a song that I don’t like or lurve.

I don’t really know any of the bands playing on Saturday night too well… Any suggestions? (Check the comments below.)

I’m definitely going back to Little Radio Summer Camp on Sunday ... just for fun in the sun ... but I don’t know who is playing. After that? Maybe The Devils Romantics at The Eagle Rock Bowling & Drinking Club.

That's it. Did I miss anything? Please lemme know.

For Saturday night I'd say you've gotta go with the Evangenitals at Mr T's Bowl. The event is actually a fundraiser for a really cool project called The 1 Second Film ( and there are a ton of great bands playing -- Vermouth, Evangenitals, The Natural Disasters, Cousin Junebug, Ollin, and 8 Bit. It's only $5 and should be an absolute blast.
