The Monday Show Lowdown (Or "Someone Spoke And I Fell Into A Dream")

Last Saturday, I took a circuit bending workshop to learn how to rewire cheap electronic voice modulators into little feedback laden monsters. It was the loudest class I've ever taken... each of the ten students producing something that squawked or pulsed or screamed and all of them going off at once. Needless to say, it was enormously entertaining.

The night before at Spaceland was a great example of how much fun the music scene here in LA can be. It was Radars To The Sky's release event for their second EP and they played with pop act The Flying Tourbillon Orchestra, the upbeat plus loud The Henry Clay People, and The Hectors, who managed to keep the crowd around until late with a particularly great set.

Then last night, we had a buncha people over for our semi-regular bad movie night. This time was Alice Cooper's Monster Dog, a werewolf flick filmed in Portugal starring a creature that looked like a chupacabra that had been beaten with an ugly stick around the face, chest, breast, and neck. Severely.

Fun weekend, but this week looks even better between all the parties and a few great shows...

DECISION:
The Christmas Sweater Party at Crash Mansion has an incredible line-up – The Happy Hollows, The Deadly Syndrome, The Mae Shi, and The Pity Party playing two 15-minute sets – and it’s raising money for Doctors Without Borders. And the shows w/ Jessica Fichot and Hearts Of Palm UK at El Cid and Midnight Movies with Imperial Teen are also pretty noteworthy.

The Eagle Rock Bowling & Drinking Club seems to taking a break for the holidays… There’s a few acts over at Spaceland I’ve been meaning to check out.

That’s it. Did I miss anything? Please lemme know.
